Terms of Service

Downloading, installing, or using Babelarc means you accept the terms below. If you don't, please don't use the app.

Babelarc is a Windows desktop app that translates the game chat you frame on screen, in real time, into a language you read. Translation runs on a cloud AI model that we keep upgrading, so results will change over time. We can't guarantee 100% accuracy — for anything important, double-check.

Each translation spends a small amount of energy tied to your account. New sign-ups receive 3000 energy as a welcome; one grant per account, signing in and out won't farm extra.

You can't translate without signing in — there is no guest mode, sign-in is a prerequisite.

Energy is non-transferable. Subscription refund rules are in section 4.

Babelarc offers monthly subscription tiers (Starter / Pro / Power). Payments are processed by Creem.io (Glow Finance LLC) as Merchant of Record — your card statement shows "CREEM.IO".

Auto-renewal: subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each monthly billing cycle. On renewal your balance is reset to the tier's energy quota — any unused energy from the previous period does not carry over; the new period's quota replaces it.

Cancellation: cancel any time from the desktop app's Plans / subscription menu or the Creem self-service portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period — you keep the energy you've already paid for through that period; no renewal is charged after that.

Switching plans (since v0.5.1): subscribers can change tiers in-place from either the desktop client or this site — no need to cancel and re-subscribe. Upgrades take effect immediately: the extra energy quota lands in your balance on the spot and Creem charges the prorated difference for the remaining days of the current period. Downgrades are scheduled for your next renewal date so the period you already paid for is honoured: until that date you stay on the current (higher) tier with no refund, and from the next renewal onward you're billed and granted energy at the new tier. You can undo a scheduled downgrade from the plan-management panel any time before it takes effect.

What happens after a refund: once a refund is processed (by us or directly in Creem), Creem immediately terminates the subscription rather than waiting for period end. Once the refund webhook reaches our server, we zero out any remaining energy from that billing period and record an audit ledger entry. You can re-subscribe to any tier from the Plans page in the desktop client at any time.

Refund policy: every new account receives 3000 energy on signup — enough to translate ~300 screenshots plus a few thousand typed-in lines, more than enough to decide whether Babelarc fits your workflow before you commit. Because the trial is generous, subscription payments are non-refundable by default, and energy already granted for the current period is not prorated.

The one exception: if our service is broken — a severe bug, outage, or other failure on our side that stops you from actually using the period you paid for — email babelarcapp@gmail.com within 30 days describing the issue. We'll review case by case and refund where appropriate. Refunds are issued by Creem back to the original payment method; the time to land is determined by Creem (typically a few business days).

The 3000 signup-bonus energy is not a subscription and is not refundable — it's a one-time evaluation grant.

Tax and compliance: as Merchant of Record, Creem handles VAT / sales-tax registration and remittance across 190+ countries automatically. Prices shown at checkout are tax inclusive — no surprise add-ons.

Please don't:

• Bypass anti-cheat systems or otherwise breach the terms of any game you're playing
• Translate and distribute illegal, harassing, or hateful content
• Scrape or reverse-engineer our service endpoints in bulk
• Disrupt our systems, or anyone else's, in any way

Subject to your compliance with these terms, Babelarc grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the Babelarc desktop app for your own personal, non-commercial use. Because the app is portable, you may copy it across your own devices for that personal use.

You may not:

• resell, rent, sublicense, or redistribute the app
• decompile, reverse-engineer, or attempt to derive its source code (except where that restriction is prohibited by law)
• remove or alter any copyright or brand notices
• use the app to provide a commercial service to third parties

All rights in the desktop app, website copy, and brand assets (mark, palette, bridge-arc visuals) belong to Babelarc; this licence transfers no ownership. Open-source components bundled with the app remain under their respective licences; sound effects come from Kenney Interface Sounds 1.0 (CC0 public domain).

This licence terminates automatically if you materially breach these terms; on termination you must stop using and delete the app.

Babelarc is provided "as is". We are not liable for the accuracy of any translation, for any consequence to your game account arising from your use of the app, or for the availability of underlying third-party services (payment, cloud, and AI translation providers).

We may suspend accounts that seriously violate these terms. You can stop using Babelarc whenever you want, and you can email us to request deletion of your account.
